Today’s ‘Tickets @ 2’ song is “Brown Sugar” by The Rolling Stones.

Mick Jagger wrote the lyrics, and according to band mate Bill Wyman, were inspired by backing singer Claudia Linnear who was one of Ike Turners backup singers in the Ikettes. Jagger met her when The Stones toured with Turner in 1969.

The Stones recorded the song at Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in Sheffield, Alabama, where The Stones label Atlantic Records often sent their acts.

When you hear it play between two and three we’ll take lucky caller #13 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win a pair of tickets to see Roger Daltrey perform a benefit at the O.C. Fair this August for ‘Teen Cancer.’
