Did You Know: “Hello It’s Me” By Todd Rundgren

Today’s ‘Tickets @ 2’ song is “Hello It’s Me” a 1972 hit for Todd Rundgren.

This was originally recorded by Todd Rundgren’s late 1960s band The Nazz, who included it on their 1968 album, it received very little attention and made just #66 in the US. Remarkably, it was the first song Todd ever wrote, he was in his teens, just 19.

The song takes us through a phone call where the singer breaks up with a girlfriend, it’s a one-sided conversation.

When we play it between two and three we’ll take caller #7 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win a pair of tickets to the Grease Sing-A-Long at the bowl, coming to the Hollywood Bowl in July.
