Though Aretha Franklin has been dealing with unspecified health issues as of late, the Queen of Soul received a dose of good news this week after being named the honoree for the 2013 Major League Baseball Beacon Awards.

According to Rolling Stone, Aretha will be honored along with former baseball star Bo Jackson during the annual Civil Rights Game on August 24th, which features the Chicago White Sox hosting the Texas Rangers at U.S. Cellular Field.

“The MLB Beacon Awards offer a positive reminder that there are individuals who use their celebrity and fame to make a positive difference in our society,” Frank Robinson, MLB executive vice president of baseball development, said in a statement.

Recipients of the MLB Beacon Award in the past included famous names like Bill Cosby, Morgan Freeman and Muhamed Ali, as well asĀ  baseball stars Willie Mays, Frank Robinson and Hank Aaron.
