Earth, Wind & Fire is gearing up for the release of their first new album in eight years, Now , Then & Forever this September 10th. In anticipation of its release, the group released a brand new single from the upcoming effort titled, “Sign On.”

Released exclusively on, the new song carries those same funky rhythms and falsetto vocals that are unmistakably their own.

Speaking to Billboard, frontman Philip Bailey reveals that group didn’t want to stray too far away from the vintage EWF sound fans have come to know and love over their acclaimed career.

“I had to really resolve in my mind that our music is that important to millions of people, and they really do expect Earth, Wind & Fire to sound like Earth, Wind & Fire — and if you try to hard to go forward and lose who you are then you lose your base and you lose what’s attractive to fans,” said Bailey.
