Beach Boys Interrupt Wedding Then Invite Guests To Concert

An Ohio couple got a shock of a lifetime on their big day when The Beach Boys unwittingly crashed their picturesque ceremony when sound checking for that night’s concert.

The soon to be newlyweds Mark Kent and Jaime Diadiun didn’t plan on competing with the legendary surf-pop group while exchanging their vows in August, but the interruption turned out to be a blessing when members Mike Love and Bruce Johnston invited all the wedding guests to their concert that night.

According to Ohio’s Plain Dealer, the couple’s Aug. 4th ceremony took place next door to the outdoor concert venue Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica where the Beach Boys were performing that night. During the wedding ceremony, the group’s sound check performing a few bars of “God Only Knows (What I’d Be Without You)” interrupted the ceremony, but to the couple, it couldn’t have timed out any better.

“It was awesome and perfectly timed. ‘God Only Knows’ will likely be our official song now,” the bride told the Plain Dealer.

Love and Johnston later found about about causing the commotion during the ceremony, so to make it up to them, they invited the entire wedding party out to the show that night.

During the group’s encore, the bride was invited on stage where she danced and played the tambourine along to the hit “Fun, Fun, Fun.”

Even though it didn’t turn out quite the way they planned, the couple’s wedding ceremony was certainly a night they’ll never forget!
