For the past eleven years now, you’ve seen him as one of the current cast members of Saturday Night Live, and now Kenan Thompson gearing up for a brand new season of the long-running sketch show this Saturday night!
It’s hard to believe, but SNL makes its 39th season premiere on Saturday, Sept. 28th with the return of Tina Fey as the guest host. Kenan even appears in the hilarious new season promos alongside Tina, which you should definitely watch right now if you haven’t already.
“Tina’s the greatest…she’s so brilliant and when people like that come to the show, we don’t necessarily have to worry about anything. It’s going to be an awesome time,” he told Gary and Lisa.
Kenan tells us this season welcomes many new cast members to the show, which he says are “just as talented as anyone else” and is excited how fans of the show embrace the new members.
Along with preparing for the new season of SNL, Kenan is also prepping for hosting duty of his own for the Hub Network’s First Annual Halloween Bash on Oct. 20, which will air on Saturday, Oct. 26th.
Kenan tells us the event invites fans to enter its Halloween costume competition for the chance to win $25,000 “smackeroos,” plus a walk-on role on the network’s series R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour.
The costume contest will be judged by expert on all things Halloween, Martha Stewart, plus musical entertainment by pop sensation Cody Simpson.
The show will be shooting in Los Angeles and Kenan tells us they’re going to pick “representatives from all 50 states” for the contest.
The costume contest is open to all ages, and welcomes individuals and group entries of a maximum of five people per submission. The contest has six categories and the deadline to enter the contest Sunday, Sept. 29th – for full details on how to enter, visit hubworld.com/halloween.
The six categories of the costume contest include “Howl-arious” (funny costume); “Spook-tacular” (scary costume); “Mad Genius” (unique/original); “Blast From The Past” (time-period inspired costume); “Animal Kingdom” (living creature from the past or present); and “Everyday Stuff” (unique take on everyday items like a fridge).
