Actress Justina Machado (Six Feet Under/Private Practice/Desperate Housewives) is one of the stars of the upcoming NBC comedy Welcome To The Family, which premieres this week! Justina joined Gary and Lisa in studio this morning to tell listeners about the show that’s poised to bring back the “must-see TV” comedy block back to NBC.

Welcome To The Family sits right in the middle of a new comedy lineup on NBC and airs after the hit comedy Parks and Rec, followed by new shows Sean Saves The World and The Michael J. Fox Show.

“It’s the must-see TV. We’re trying to bring back that Thursday family night,” said Justina. “I am super excited.”

Justina explains that the premise of the show is about two drastically different families being thrown together after unplanned circumstances.

“It’s about these two families that get thrown together…their children get pregnant together. They had dreams for their kids, but their kids are now in love and are gonna have this baby,” explained Justina. “It’s a bunch of people that would never normally be friends, but now they are colliding with their personalities…with their values.”

Justina stars as one of the mothers, Lisette, on the show which also stars Ricardo Chavira (Desperate Housewives) as Justina’s husband, Miguel, and Joey Haro (Glee) as her son, Junior.  Mike O’Malley (Glee, My Name Is Earl) and Mary McCormack (In Plain Sight) star as the parents of the opposite family with their daughter Molly played by Ella Rae Peck.

Be sure to tune in to see Justina Machado on the series premiere of Welcome To The Family this Thursday, Oct. 3rd at 8:30 p.m. Listen to our complete interview with Justina in the clip below!
