Morning Show Poll: What’s The Greatest MTV Music Video Of All-Time?

This morning, The K-EARTH 101 Morning Show kicks off a weekend celebrating the first decade of music featured on MTV for K-EARTH 101’s ‘I Want My MTV’ Weekend!

So in honor of the kickoff with the help of original MTV VJ Nina Blackwood and the Bangles’ Susanna Hoffs this morning, we’re asking listeners what they think is the greatest music video of ALL-TIME!

Since the very first MTV Video Music Awards in 1984, only one video has been crowned the ‘Best Music Video of the Year’ and takes home the coveted moon man each year.

We put together a shortlist of the MTV VMA Video of the Year winners in the ’80s, plus a few more classic videos in our Morning Show Poll for our listeners to choose the best of all time.

Here’s a reminder of the MTV VMA winners in the ’80s:

  • “You Might Think” by The Cars (1984)
  • “The Boys of Summer” by Don Henley (1985)
  • “Money for Nothing” by Dire Straits (1986)
  • “Sledgehammer” by Peter Gabriel (1987)
  • “Need You Tonight” / “Mediate” by INXS (1988)
  • “This Note’s for You” by Neil Young (1989)

So what do you think is the greatest music video ever played on MTV? Vote for your favorite from the choices below or write in your personal fave!
