By Britt Bickel

We’re just days away from K-EARTH 101’s BOO-gie BASH featuring KC and the Sunshine Band and The Boogie Knights at the Hollywood Palladium on Oct. 25th!

Joining The K-EARTH 101 Morning Show on the phone today was the star of the BOO-gie BASH, Harry Casey, himself!

Harry teased what to expect from his show, saying that “it’s high-energy. It’s all the hits and then some. It’s a big party!”

Back in the day when polyester leisure suits and platform shoes were all the rage, Harry tells us that he was more of a “jean and T-shirt guy” even though KC and the Sunshine Band were the kings of disco music.

It’s hard to believe, but Harry says that his success in recording came along unexpectedly. He explains that he first started out in music working as a writer/producer at a record label when, “on a fluke” he ended up becoming the most successful artist on the label.

“I was writing and singing and doing stuff for other people there at the company, actually,” said Harry. “I went in on a fluke one day and recorded this record on myself and it started making noise and the rest is history.”

Backed by a 15-piece band on stage, KC and the Sunshine Band are behind some of the biggest dance hits of the ’70s era, and Harry was no stranger at doing the big dances crazes himself.

“There was the bump, there was the hustle – a combination of a lot of different things,” he said. “My mother was a very good dancer and from a little boy, she kind of instilled that in me.”

And you can bet he’ll be getting his boogie on at K-EARTH 101’s BOO-gie BASH! Fans can dance and sing along to all of KC’s hits like “That’s The Way I Like It,” “Get Down Tonight,” “Shake Your Booty,” “Please Don’t Go” and many more.
