Did You Know: “Merry Christmas Darling” By The Carpenters

Today on ‘Tickets @ 2’ it’s a sound of the season from the Carpenters, it’s “Merry Christmas Darling.”

This was the first attempt at Christmas music the Karen and Richard. The lyrics were written by Frank Pooler, who was the choir director at Cal State Long Beach. Karen and Richard were both part of the choir. In 1966, at Pooler’s request, Richard composed the music for what became a 1970 hit for the duo.

When we play it between two and three we’ll take caller #7 to win a 4-pack of tickets to enjoy ‘Grinchmas’ at Universal Studios Hollywood. Call in at 1-800-232-KRTH.(5784) – Good Luck!
