We’ve had the pleasure of welcoming many special guests to the ‘out of control’ room here on the K-EARTH 101 Morning Show over the past year. As we get ready for Christmas break and the coming new year, we’re counting down some of the most memorable guest interviews of the year!

I Want My MTV Weekend — Featuring original MTV VJ Nina Blackwood and The Bangles’ Susanna Hoffs, we relived the golden years of MTV in its first pioneering decade. Nina Blackwood recalled MTV’s launch day and cleared up the controversy behind MTV refusing to play Michael Jackson videos. Plus, Susanna looks back on the making of the group’s “Walk Like An Egyptian” video.

Wang ChungJack Hues and bassist Nick Feldman of the British ’80s new wave group stopped in to talk about their biggest hit “Everybody Wang Chung Tonight” and what it really means to ‘Wang Chung.’ They also tell an amazing story about Paul McCartney lending them his bass to record “Dance Hall Days.” Listen here.

Val Kilmer — The famed actor stopped in to talk about his challenging new role of portraying iconic author Mark Twain in a one man stage show Citizen Twain. He also talks about his favorite and least favorite roles he’s played on screen over the years and the possibility of reprising his iconic role as ‘Iceman’ in the upcoming Top Gun sequel. Frankie Valli — The legendary ‘Four Seasons’ singer stopped by the studio to address rumors of the Jersey Boys movie and talk the group’s biggest hits.
