‘Rizzoli & Isles’ Star Colin Egglesfield On The “Adrenaline Rush” Of The Pro-Celeb Race

As Lisa Stanley trains for the Long Beach Toyota Grand Prix Pro-Celebrity Race, she’s been rubbing elbows with lots of famous faces on the race track, including one of the stars of TNT’s hit series Rizzoli and Isles, Colin Egglesfield.

Colin joined us on the phone this morning to talk about participating in the Pro-Celeb race, plus his role on the Rizzoli and Isles alongside Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander.

Colin told us that as he trained for the Pro-Celeb race, he found out that getting behind the wheel isn’t as easy as it sounds.

“I never thought race car driving would be so difficult, but it’s pretty scary, especially with Lisa in front on me,” he quipped. “I mean this is serious stuff. Cars are spinning out, last year we heard a car flipped over…the adrenaline rush you get after driving 90 miles per hour in these little cars is amazing.”

Colin explains that he was asked to participate in the in Pro-Celeb race last year, but thought it was something he’d never be able to do. However, when the opportunity came up again this year and found out that it also benefits the charity Racing For Kids, a national fundraising program supporting children’s hospitals throughout the United States, he signed up right away.

When Colin isn’t on the race track, fans know him from roles including on the new detective series Rizzoli and Isles, plus All My Children and his starring role opposite of Kate Hudson in Something Borrowed. He’s also currently shooting a new film with Bruce Willis called Vice, a sci-fi adventure about artificial intelligence.

Catch Colin on Rizzoli and Isles on TNT tonight at 9pm! Listen to our complete chat with Colin in the clip below.
