They’ve united to bring fans the ultimate Soundtrack of Summer tour this May, and now former Eagles guitarist Don Felder has teamed up with his tourmates Foreigner and Styx to record a brand new version of the ’70s rock staple, “Hotel California.”

USA Today debuted the new version of the song Wednesday morning and report that the song will be included on the accompanying Soundtrack of Summer tour CD available exclusively at Walmart on May 6th.

The new version features Felder – who co-wrote the original Eagles hit – Styx’s Tommy Shaw and Foreigner’s Kelly Hanson sharing lead vocals on the verses with all three chiming in on the chorus.

Having reworked the song previously for the Eagles’ 1994 Hell Freezes Over live album, Felder tells USA Today that “I was a bit perplexed about how to go about doing it” a second time, adding that the song “grows from this acoustic steel-string version to where the electric guitars come in at the end.”

The Soundtrack of Summer tour swings through SoCal on July 26 at LA’s Greek Theatre and July 27 at the Santa Barbara Bowl. See full tour dates here.
