This morning on Remember The Time, we flashed back to the year 1981! This was the year that President Reagan fired over 11,000 air traffic controllers after they refused to show up for work, the movie “Stripes” starring Bill Murray was released, and the group Blondie had a No.1 hit with the song “Rapture.”

The song reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 where it stayed for two weeks. The music video made its own history after becoming the first official rap video to play on MTV after making its TV debut on “Solid Gold” in 1981.
