Guide To SoCal Theme Park Ticket Discounts

With summer just around the corner and the kids getting ready to go on break from school, it’s that time of the year to start planning family getaways. For many SoCal residents, that means a trip to one of the many theme parks in the area, but as we all know, the ticket prices can be steep.

Luckily, there are a few tips that can save residents money on the ticket prices at many of the local parks. According to ABC News, many parks offer discounts for SoCal residents leading up to the summer season. Here’s a breakdown of some of the discounts being offered:

Disneyland: The most magical place on earth offers up an annual deal for SoCal residents only; Buy a 2- or 3-day theme park ticket for So Cal residents by May 30th, then you can explore the Parks one day and have until June 6, 2014 to return for your second or third visit. Prices for a 2-day park hopper ticket costs $164 and 3-day pass costs $194 while prices at the gate will cost you $210 and $210 for ages 10+.

Six Flags: Looking for a bit more thrill for the older kids in the family? Six Flags offer an online discount of $47.99 per ticket while prices at the gate will set you back $67.99.

Knott’s Berry Farm: Regular ticket prices at the gate cost $62, but buy three days in advanced online and it will only cost you $39. More details here.

Universal Studios Hollywood: A regular day ticket for ages 10 and up costs $92 at the gate, but buy online and save $5 off the ticket price. Plus, locals can take advantage of Universal’s buy a day, get the rest of the season free deal going on now. The annual pass also gives you 10 percent off on food, plus 15 percent off merchandise at the park.
