All rise for the honorable Judge Judy -the legendary TV judge joined The K-EARTH 101 Morning Show to preview her very first primetime special airing tonight on CBS!

“I’m very excited about my first ever primetime special tonight,” she told Gary Bryan and Lisa Stanley, who actually worked as a producer on the show years ago.

Having long held the title as the highest-rated daytime program, it’s hard to believe that Judge Judy has never been on primetime in her 18 seasons on air. So why did it take so long for Judge Judy to get her own primetime special?

“I don’t know, I think they just woke up and figured I wouldn’t go away, so they might as well give me one,” she laughed.

On the longevity of her show, Judge Judy credits not only her loyal fanbase, but the hard work of her producers and showrunners for the success of the show.

“[The producers] really got the best material for me to work with, and I think that probably accounts for the longevity of the program,” she explained. “I think that everybody understood that it was a legitimate court program where things were resolved in a respectful yet entertaining way.”

The one-hour primetime special is part documentary on Sheindlin’s journey on air, plus some brand new cases and classic Judge Judy justice.

“You will see some cases, you will see some classic Judy-isms and a surprise guest who you will instantaneously recognize,” she teased.

Catch the Judge Judy primetime special tonight at 8pm on CBS. Listen to our complete interview with the one and only Judge Judy below.
