Happy Throwback Thursday! Today, The K-EARTH 101 Morning Show is going old school and throwing is back to the year 1984.

Some of the hits songs taking over the charts this year included “Somebody’s Watching Me” by Rockwell and Michael Jackson, “Say Say Say” by Sir Paul and MJ, “Jump” by Van Halen and “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins.

It was also the year Apple’s 1984-inspired commercial for its first model of the Mac debuted during the Superbowl, and who could forget Wendy’s popular slogan “Where’s The Beef” all over the place that year?! Movies that came out in ’84 included Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Terminator, Ghostbusters and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

Listen to more music and memories from the year 1984 in the clip below.

Gary and Lisa also dug deep into their photo archives and shared their Throwback Thursday photos from 1984 this morning. Gary shared a photo of when he met Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant at an event when he worked at Seattle’s KISW.
