World Naked Bike Ride Will Make Its Way Through DTLA And Echo Park On Flag Day

By Nadia Noir

“Get on your bikes and ride!” Queen said it best. If you’re looking for a “fat-bottomed girl,” look no further than this year’s World Naked Bike Ride. You’ll also see a lot of other parts that you’ll probably want to erase from your short-term memory a la Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

On June 14, get ready to watch tons of bike riders driving stark naked around the Downtown Los Angeles/Echo Park neighborhoods, specifically Elysian Valley.

According to LAist, last year about 250 bikers cruised around sans clothing. And although it was a freeballin’ free-for-all in 2013, this year participants are being asked to RSVP to get the location and route.

It’s not just about the flash of flesh. These people are bike-riding for a reason.

Here’s a blurb from the site:

“World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) is a global grassroots movement, connected only by our determination to all be naked and ride our bikes on WNBR Day. We ride in celebration and jubilation to deliver a vision of a cleaner, safer, body-positive world to the masses.”

So whether you’re biking in your birthday suit or just an appreciative onlooker, World Naked Bike Ride has you, ummm, covered?
