As Robert Plant prepares for the release of lullaby and… The Ceaseless Roar, he’s debuted the first song from the album, his first since 2010’s Band of Joy.

“Rainbow,” the album’s first single, is out today and currently streaming via the former Led Zeppelin frontman’s YouTube page.

Compared to some of Zeppelin’s more rocking material, “Rainbow” is subdued in comparison, though it’s still unmistakably a Plant record. Alongside guitar and driving percussion, Plant sings about “singing my song for you / and I will carry on” as a chorus of “ooh”s rise in the background.

“Rainbow” precedes the release of lullaby by a few months; the record, out on Nonesuch/Warner Bros., will be out Sept. 9 and features 11 new songs; all but two were written by Plant and his band.
