Joan Rivers has never been one to be politically correct in her comedy, and it’s her rawness and boldness that gets many in Hollywood riled up. In her new memoir, Diary Of A Mad Diva, Joan doesn’t hold back when it comes to poking fun at the many egos in the entertainment world, but she’s not apologizing anytime soon.

Joan called in this morning to talk about her new book and why it’s ruffling up some celebs’ feathers, including Twilight star Kristen Stewart.

“It’s gotten to the point that everything is so stupidly, politically correct now that it’s just crazy,” she said, addressing recent headlines that Stewart was threatening to sue over comments she made in her book about the star’s 2012 affair with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

“They backed off and it makes me so sad. I was dying to get Kristen Stewart into court,” she joked. “The book, ‘Diary Of A Mad Diva,’ it’s a funny book.”

Stewart isn’t the only celeb she’s targeting in her book either. Joan dedicated the book to hip hop star Kanye West and even quoted him in the opening line.

“Kanye’s exact quote, which is the first quote in the book, ‘some people write novels and they just be so worry and so self absorbed. I am a proud non-reader of books,'” she said.

In the book, readers follow Joan on a “family vacation in Mexico and on trips between New York and Los Angeles where she mingles with the stars, never missing a beat as she delivers blistering critiques on current events, and excoriating insights about life, pop culture, and celebrities (from A to D list), all in her relentlessly funny signature style.” So who else is Joan going after in her juicy,┬áno-holds-barred book?

“Adele I know is not happy, the Kardashians are miserable, little Taylor Swift has stopped sobbing,” she laughed.

You can pick up a copy of Joan Rivers’ new book Diary Of A Mad Diva on July 1st in bookstores or online. Joan will be signing copies of her book at Barnes And Noble at The Grove on Thursday, July 10th at 6:30pm.
