Leah Remini On Her Family’s ‘Abnormal’ Reality Series ‘It’s All Relative’

Actress Leah Remini is opening up her world and giving fans a peek inside her wild and crazy family on her new reality show It’s All Relative on TLC. She joined us on the phone this morning to talk about tonight’s back to back episodes in which Leah and her family try to prepare for an earthquake disaster.

Since the show’s debut in July, Leah’s mother Vicki has proven to be the show’s breakout star. She tells us her mother has always dreamed of the spotlight.

“She always thought she was a star, so this is just giving her more ammunition,” she said. “When I asked her to do it, she’s like ‘of course, Leah, I always thought I was the real talent of this family’.”

Just a few examples of Vicki’s antics on the show include making Leah plan her funeral and giving her a live funeral while she’s still alive, and getting a tramp stamp!

Leah joked that she didn’t have to do a whole lot of convincing to her family to star in a reality show, who she says were all for letting cameras follow them around. The appealing factor of Leah’s show is that the drama and day to day happenings are all “natural” as opposed to the many scripted reality series out there.

“I think the difference here is that it’s not a drama, we’re not creating drama, and it’s not scripted,” she said. “It’s just our very normal, abnormal I should say life…it’s not that serious, it’s not that deep, it’s just supposed to make you laugh.”

Catch Leah on It’s All Relative Thursday nights at 10 on TLC. Listen to our complete interview with Leah below.
