Rick Springfield Answers Listener Questions Live On Air

This morning, Rick Springfield joined The K-EARTH 101 Morning Show to talk about his upcoming ‘Rock For Ruben’ charity concert at the House of Blues on Sunset Wednesday (listen to part one of the interview here). While we had him in studio, Rick also took a few questions from his die-hard fans themselves.

Listeners from all over the country called in for their chance to talk to Rick in person and ask him that one question they’ve always wanted to know.

We had questions about his upcoming movie with Meryl Steep called Ricki And The Flash (where he plays Streep’s rocker boyfriend), about his time on the road, and the one question he gets all the time – is “Jessie’s Girl” based on a girl he knew?

Check out a few highlights from Rick’s Q&A with listeners below:

On Air questions:

How good does it feel to be home after being on the road for so long? – Shelly from San Juan Capistrano

RS: “It’s freaking awesome. We were just out with Pat Benatar and we did some shows with Pat and Cheap Trick and I haven’t been out that long since 1985.”

What do you think about a fan who has a tattoo of you on their body somewhere? – Kim from Florida

RS: “I call that commitment. It’s great. I’ve signed a lot of people and they have tattoos…I have tattoos and they’re meaningful to me and things that were instrumental in my life and so if that works from someone else, I’m a champion.”

I wanted to ask a question about the film with Meryl Streep, I know it’s going to be filmed in New York City; could you give me an idea of where/when? – Stacy from New Jersey

RS: [Laughing] “I cannot. No, I don’t know myself actually. It will be filmed in New York, there will be some exteriors in L.A. and also some interiors in Indianapolis, but I think the bulk of it will be filmed in New York.”

Facebook questions:

What do your necklaces stand for you always wear? – Deb M.

RS: “It’s a Buddhist necklace made by a local artist. I have a couple of them, because they wear out because I wear them all the time.”

Rick, will you be having any steamy sexy love scenes in your upcoming movie with Meryl? – Kristina B.

RS: “That’s a secret at the moment, I can’t tell you that one.”
