Jim Carrey made an appearance on the Today Show Tuesday, and let’s just say, things got a little bit kooky.
He was there to promote his new film Dumb and Dumber To and Carrey sat down with Matt Lauer to talk about the new movie, his recent Saturday Night Live gig, and then somehow the conversation switched to the topic of Ebola.
Lauer said he wanted to ask him about something that happened last week, referring to his SNL appearance, but Carrey had another topic in mind – Ebola.
“I wanna talk about Ebola – first of all, precautions. Make sure you take precautions, you know you don’t want to get too crazy,” he says. “Where were they in the first couple of weeks when those two doctors got cleared and they had a press conference and they’re hugging everybody…I’m going, come on do you really know that much about the disease?”
When Lauer says he was referring to his SNL hosting gig, Carrey quipped, “Well that’s catching on as well” to huge laughs in the studio. Earlier in the show, Carrey showed up wearing a blue mask and gloves while pretending to sneeze on fans outside, obviously poking fun at the virus.
