We all know he can act, but who knew Kevin Spacey could carry a tune!
During PBS’ televised broadcast of the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song honoring Billy Joel on Jan. 2, Spacey joined the ‘piano man’ himself to sing a dazzling rendition of the signature tune.
Before stepping up to the mic, Joel hands Spacey a harmonica and quips, “do you know how to play this?” to which he responds, “well it’s your night, Billy, and I will accept the challenge, yes.”
As Joel then played the intro to “Piano Man,” Spacey blew the audience away with his impressive harmonica skills before taking the lead on vocals of the signature tune. Really, is there anything he can’t do?
More guest artists then made their way out to join Spacey and Joel sing the song including Boyz II Men, Natalie Maines, Josh Groban, Gavin DeGraw, Tony Bennett and LeAnn Rimes.
This isn’t just some glorified karaoke tribute, Spacey and company really nail the song and even get the entire audience to sing along!
