Jack Black, Boy George Team Up With The Doors’ Robby Krieger To Sing “Hello, I Love You”

Only on late night TV could a performance by such diverse acts like Jack Black, Boy George and The Doors’ Robby Krieger ever come to fruition on stage.

During appearances Monday night on Conan, Black and George teamed up with The Doors’ legendary guitarist for an ‘impromptu’ performance of the group’s hit “Hello, I Love You.”

It all came about when George was discussing his musical influences with Conan, saying that his favorite groups, including The Doors, all came out of the ’70s. When Conan noted that “I don’t hear [The Doors] influence” in Culture Club’s music, Black interjected to Conan “what’s wrong with the Doors?”

That’s when Conan suggested that if the two of them loved The Doors so much, why don’t they sing one of their hits together with the Basic Cable Band. And lo and behold, sitting in with the Basic Cable Band that night was Robby Krieger!

So maybe the whole thing was all an orchestrated bit, but nonetheless, the three of them jammed together like they’ve been doing this for years. The whole performance is topped off with Black’s goofy energetic stage antics and a rockin’ guitar solo from Krieger at the end.

Watch the performance in the clip above!
