Watch John Mayer Preview the Grateful Dead’s ‘Tennessee Jed’

John Mayer teased a 15-second clip of The Grateful Dead‘s “Tennessee Jed” earlier today.

The song comes as a result of Mayer heading into the studio to rehearse for an upcoming run of shows that kicks off at Times Union Center in Albany on October 29 before heading to New York City for a handful of shows around Halloween.

Performing as Dead & Company, the project features Mayer and 3/4ths of the original Dead members, Bob Weird, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann. Oteil Burbridge, bassist for the Allman Brothers, and Ratdog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti round out the group.

Mayer’s smile alone in the clip says it all. Check out the video below.
