Street Closures, Traffic Delays Expected During Pres. Obama’s Visit To LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — President Barack Obama will visit Southern California Thursday to attend a pair of Democratic National Committee fundraisers.

Obama will travel from San Jose to Los Angeles later today.

According to the White House, the president will attend a Hancock Park reception hosted by entertainment lawyer Aaron Rosenberg and his husband, “Cougar Town” producer Danny Rose. John Legend will perform at the event.

Obama will remain in Los Angeles overnight.

Police have advised the public to expect heavy traffic and multiple street closures in the greater Los Angeles area during Obama’s visit.

The following streets will remain closed today:

— North Hollywood Way between North San Fernando Boulevard and Forest Lawn Drive from 3:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.

— Olive Avenue between North Pass Avenue and Hollywood Way from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

— South Rossmore Avenue between West 3rd Street and Wilshire Boulevard from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

— West 6th Street between South Muirfield Road and South Arden Boulevard from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

— Rimpau Boulevard between West Pico Boulevard and W. 6th Street from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

— Wilshire Boulevard between South Hudson Avenue and South Arden Boulevard from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

— W. 4th Street between South Muirfield Road and Lorraine Boulevard from 7:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

— South Windsor Boulevard between West 2nd Street and West 5th Street from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

— West 3rd Street between South Plymouth and Lorraine Boulevard from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

— Crenshaw Boulevard between Wilshire and West Adams boulevards from 8:45 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

— Wilshire Boulevard between the 405 Freeway and Malcom Avenue from 8:45 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Heavy traffic is expected in the Westwood Village area.

Los Angeles High School will close at 3:00 p.m. today. South Rimpau Boulevard will be closed between Edgewood Place and West Olympic Boulevard from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Hilgard Avenue between Weyburn and Le Conte avenues will remain closed from 10:00 p.m. tonight through 10:00 a.m. Friday.
