LISTEN: Kiefer Sutherland Talks With Gary and Lisa About Working With His Father Donald Sutherland! Who Was More Nervous?

Kiefer Sutherland blew a call into the show this morning to speak with Gary Bryan and Lisa Stanley about his new western film “Forsaken” that hits VOD beginning today.

Kiefer spoke about how fun it was to work with Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson in “Zoolander 2“.

Also, after 208 episodes of the hit show “24”, will Kiefer reprise his role in the new incarnation?  He says: “I’ve learned to never say never.”

On working with his father, Donald Sutherland, in his new film “Forsaken“, Kiefer admits that he was always close with dad and has always wanted to star in a movie with him ever since his career began!  He says that on the night before shooting began that he “went into full panic mode” and wondered if his dad would “hate” working with him,  saying: “I didn’t sleep at all that night.”  His dad later admitted to him: “I haven’t slept for a week!”

Will he ever work with his daughter, Sarah Sutherland, who stars in Veep? Kiefer says: there have been 2 different times over the course of my daughter’s career that I have needed someone her age to play a part. And have offered her 2 parts and she’s turned me down both times!”

His new TV show in the works is “Designated Survivor“.  He finally gets to play the president!

Why did he choose to work on a western film? He says: “The Western is the purest form of American storytelling.”
