Gene Wilder, best known for his role in the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, has passed away at the age of 83.

Throughout his career, Wilder also starred in various Mel Brooks movies such as Young Frankenstein and The Producers.

According to reports, Wilder actually died earlier this month from complications of Alzheimer’s.
