If you want your privacy on Facebook, now you got it.

The company just released the Messenger App update that will allow you to encrypt your messages.

For now, there are a few things to know before you think everything you’re writing is hidden.

  1. It’s not automatically added. So the old convos you’ve been in: they aren’t all of a sudden private. You have to start a new one under the “secret conversations” section, and THEN you’re good to go.
  2. It can only be used on one device at a time. Unfortunately, you can’t have it on everywhere you use Facebook.
  3. It doesn’t work on group messages.
