He’s back and back in a big way with a big movie that’s already got big Oscar buzz. I’m talking about Mel Gibson who is still out to convince the world to forgive him.
Gibson was on with Steven Colbert last night to talk about his new movie Hacksaw Ridge, which he directed. The film stars Andrew Garfield and Vince Vaughn and is being received with open arms in Hollywood.
Gibson took a journey back through time with Colbert lying on a plaid blanket gazing in to the sky with ‘The Late Show” host who asked him about regrets. Then Colbert asked him what he would tell his younger self.
He was mocking that 2006 drunken Anti- Semitic tirade and did say “It was not my proudest moment, but I’m healthier and happier than I’ve been in a long time.” Mel has been sober for over ten years and adds, “It was a moment that should not define the rest of my life.”
Hacksaw Ridge comes out this Friday.
