Saturday night I had the good fortune thanks to a friend to attend Joe Torre’s Safe At Home fundraiser at the Nokia Theatre with Dodger all time Hall of Famer great Sandy Koufax.

The evening was moderated by T.J. Simers. T.J. acknowledged those attending in the audience, former Dodger owner Peter O’ Malley got a standing ovation with some commenting around me, “Buy the team back!” Don Drysdale widow Ann was there as was former Dodgers “Sweet Lou Johnson”, Tommy Davis, and current Dodgers Clayton Kershaw, and batting coach Don Mattingly.

The Beatles drummer finally got his recognition on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on February 8th with the 2,401st Star just outside the famous Capital Records Tower on North Vine Street.

The ceremony was attended by hundreds of fans & press, one of those who spoke at the ceremony was Ringo Starr’s All Star band mate, friend and brother-in-law Joe Walsh currently with the Eagles. Joe called Ringo “The greatest Rock & Roll Drummer of all time”. One can only wonder how that makes Eagles drummer Don Henley feel.
