Original 'Brady Bunch' Cast Reuniting for 50th Anniversary Specials

July 24, 2019

“The Brady Bunch” is taking over the airwaves.

The classic sitcom is getting ready to celebrate its 50th anniversary with an onslaught of TV specials, according to The Hollywood Reporter

With the previously announced HGTV home makeover series “A Very Brady Renovation” launching in September, sister channels Food Network and Discovery are getting in on the action with programs that will also feature the show’s remaining original stars.

Barry Williams (Greg), Maureen McCormick (Marcia), Christopher Knight (Peter), Eve Plumb (Jan), Mike Lookinland (Bobby) and Susan Olsen (Cindy) are set to appear on Brady-focused episodes of Discovery and Food Network shows “Fast N’ Loud,” “Chopped,” “Worst Cooks in America,” “The Kitchen” and “The Pioneer Woman.”

While specific dates have not been announced, the episodes are expected to air in August and September as a lead up to “A Very Brady Renovation.”

That series will follow the cast as they help makeover the Los Angeles-area home that was used for exterior shots of the Brady house.
The home will be renovated to look like a replica of the one on the iconic series.
During the original show’s production, the interior scenes of the home were filmed on soundstage, so the inside of it never really looked as it did on the series.

Premiering on September 26th, 1969, “The Brady Bunch” became a cultural phenomenon airing for five seasons until ending its run in 1974.

In addition to several TV spin-offs and sequels, the series spawned two big screen adaptations, “The Brady Bunch Movie” in 1995, followed by “A Very Brady Sequel” in 1996.
